History of the School

At first this educational institution was started by Rev. Fr Prem Kumar in the year 1995 at Little Flower Church, Pushpagiri Campus under the name of Little Flower English Medium School with two teaching staffs, one non - teaching staff and three students. Mrs. Maria Lucina was selected as in charge of the school and served from 1995 to 1999. Rev Fr. Prem Kumar acted as the Manager and Mr. Sarngi Paul as the Principal. The school came under the management of the D.M Convent Sisters from the educational year 1999-2000 and Rev. Sr Rani Xavier was appointed as the Principal. This year Rev. Mother Vijaya D.M served as the Manager. Back then classes LKG to 3rd grade held. Class IV was started in the 2001-02 academic year. Subsequently, the fifth class was started in the academic year 2002-03.

Rev. Sr Angel Therese was the Principal during the year 2000-02 and Rev. Sr Archana took charge during the year 2002-04 respectively. Rev. Sr Leo was the Manager during 2002-03. During the same academic year a new building was completed on the church premises and classes were

started. The foundation stone of the new school was laid when Rev. Sr Rita Grace was in charge of the school during the academic year 2004-05. School was built with all modern facilities and inaugurated by Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrisostom, Arch Bishop of Marthandam on April 14, 2005. The new school building began to function with grades LKG to class VIII and Rev. Sr Joby George took charge as Principal from June 2005.

During this period, permission was obtained from the Tamil Nadu Matriculation board for our school students to appear for the Class X public examination. Along with Rev. Sr. Angel Therese – Correspondent, two sisters were also joined in our school - Rev. Sr. Lissa Francis as our Directress and Sr. Jossy Maria as our Accountant.

To develop the skill of students in English "SV Pattern”, we formed a Spoken English Club named “Lingua Franca” under the leadership of Mr. Regi and Mr. Manoj. Best English talking student were selected and prizes also distributed them.

Summer Sports Camp started with the age group of 10-15 years (boys & girls). 53 students participated. The events were Throw ball, Hand ball, Badminton, Kho-Kho and exercises such as leader training, running, A, B, C drills, common exercise, cone exercise, aerobic training – endurance.

Rev. Sr. Joby George has been taking all her endeavours for the upliftment of L.F.M.H.S.S. She has been implemented a lot of new policies such as introduction of grand uniform, new assembly system, activity based learning, communication skill and gives more importance to moral classes etc. Rev Sister always focuses the bright future of the students with her good vision, inspiration, responsibility and inter personal relationship. No doubt she is an empathetic leader. Rev. Sister‟s period has been considered as the Golden Era of L.F.M.H.S. School. She has been providing good platforms for the students to express their hidden talents.
